Back to school 2024 – The Lycée with international sections in Vincennes has been inaugurated!
“A high school that dances”
On Monday 2 September, Ateliers 2/3/4/ went back to school at the new Lycée with international sections in Vincennes!
The high school was inaugurated by Valérie Pécresse, President of the Ile-de-France Region, and Julie Benetti, Rectrice of the Créteil Academy, in the presence of James Chéron, Vice-President in charge of lycées, Christel Royer, Vice-President in charge of general administration, social dialogue and digital transformation, Charlotte Libert-Albanel, Mayor of Vincennes, Ile-de-France Regional Councillor, David Réa, Principal, elected representatives, the 385 Freshman and Junior students, and the project team along with all Ateliers 2/3/4/ partners.
By folding the façade, the new lycée is built lengthways on the site of a former industrial estate. It provides a harmonious transition between the western high-rise buildings to the west and the eastern suburban fabric.
The wide corridors bathed in natural light, the flexible classrooms and communal areas have welcomed the first students from Vincennes and Montreuil, as well as from a number of neighbouring towns in Seine-Saint-Denis.
They will benefit from the international sections and artistic and digital teaching offered by the school, which can welcome up to 1050 students. Opened on its environment, the high school could be named after Suzanne and Michel Serres. The late French philosopher, famous for his work on the digital revolution, and his wife lived in the city, in which they took an active part in community life.
To round off this festive start to the school year and inaugurate the large planted playground, the students performed a flashmob designed in collaboration with the Atelier de Paris / CDCN, Centre de développement chorégraphie national – Cartoucherie.
