The Antonypole station (line 18) serves a mixed neighbourhood revolving around the bio-medical industry. Surrounded by several buildings of an unstructured architecture, the station stands out as a facility with unobtrusive lines forming the keystone of the district. The raised part of the station is conceived as a levitating volume resting solely on its two powerful supports. Contrasting with a ground level that is wholly transparent, the upper technical volume affirms its opacity and makes use of all the possibilities for a relief effect offered by the dressed brickwork. The peculiarity of the Antonypole station lies in the way it tackles two non-parallel geometries, the route of line 18 and that of the existing road network that has been maintained. Like the lines at the points of a railway, this tension is illustrated in the shape of the glass roof that illuminates the hall with a diffuse light from above, while the panoramic window at the end of the perspective offers a link between the station and its forecourt.
