Quai d’Ivry – A new landscape designed by Ateliers 2/3/4/ which reconciles the river and the city
Places and links: reconciling the river and the city
Since July 2024, the Quai d’Ivry has had a new look!
This landscape, designed by Ateliers 2/3/4/ for SEMAPA, has a strong ambition: to reconcile the river and the city, based on a strategy of renaturation, an essential support for a better quality of life.
In this way, the dock is returning to its original role as a link between the Seine and Paris.
Extensively planted, it politely addresses the river with a new frontage of trees for the ZAC Paris Rive Gauche. A sign of a calmer city, this new Parisian sequence acts both as a filter and as a landscaping layer for the benefit of new spaces that can be appropriated.
Now protected from traffic and noise, the Parvis de l’ENSA Paris-Val-de-Seine is a new space of serenity. The public space has regained its essential value as a place for social interaction and encounters.
As a space of flow, it also encourages soft mobility. New, comfortable pavements and safe cycle paths linking Paris and its suburbs are already widely used, a guarantee of the success of these developments.
This renatured stretch of Paris is already helping to refresh the city and maintain biodiversity, and will continue to do so for years to come.
This development illustrates the commitment and daily action of our teams to sustainable living and cities: virtuous, resilient and desirable.
