Shifting of the Footbridge ZAC des Louvresses in Gennevilliers
| URBAN CONNECTIONS |
The Louvresses footbridge in Gennevilliers was installed last night over the A86!
This construction phase, which is always a high point (and an impressive one!) in engineering projects, is all the more important as it is part of a changing territory and constitutes the unifying linear element of the green link project.
In functional terms, it provides a direct North-South link and a continuous mineral path between the Louvresses business district and Gennevilliers station, for cyclists, people with reduced mobility and pedestrians.
Architecturally, it constitutes a strong urban signal that allows a sequence of the A86 to be redefined, thus contributing to the geographical identification of these two urban centres by all users and motorists.
Designed as a protective envelope 4m wide and 2.6m high, inspired by the principle of the mesh and similar to a “canopy”, it is stretched like an arc with an isostatic span of 70m above the motorway, and acts as a cocoon in order to allow a secure and relatively isolated path throughout the crossing.
We are pleased to present this large-scale equipment with its elegant silhouette through a few powerful images, from the intention sketch to its rigging over the A86.
